In the canton of Baselland you can get vaccinated against Covid-19 in doctors’ practices and pharmacies from August. The two cantonal vaccination centers in Lausen and Laufen will therefore be closed from September, the one in Muttenz will remain in operation.
The planning work between the cantonal authorities, the medical association and the Baselland pharmacists’ association are on track, the cantonal crisis team announced on Thursday. With the involvement of doctors’ practices and pharmacies, the canton could do without two of the three vaccination centers.
Meanwhile, the canton of Aargau is also rushing forward, and the canton has announced that there are no longer any waiting times for vaccination appointments. The vaccination centers are switching to a walk-in facility. This means that vaccinations at all vaccination centers are possible without prior registration.
From June 28, 2021, this will also be possible in 50 pharmacies in Aargau at the same time. In July and August, vaccinations are also possible at selected Migros and Coop branches. Young people between the ages of 12 and 17 can still only be vaccinated in the vaccination centers of the Aarau Cantonal Hospital in Aarau and the Baden Cantonal Hospital in Baden.
