War in Ukraine: a jacket by Volodymyr Zelensky sold at auction in London for 105,000 euros


Financial support. During a charity sale organized by the Ukrainian embassy in the United Kingdom in London, a fleece jacket by Volodymyr Zelensky was auctioned for 90,000 pounds sterling, or 105,000 euros.

During this evening which was held at the Tate Modern in London, the Ukrainian president spoke briefly before the British Prime Minister took the floor, reports the CNN channel.

“I am more certain that Ukraine will win” against Russia, assured Boris Johnson, while recalling that its president, Volodymyr Zelensky, is “one of the greatest leaders of modern times”.

The objective of these auctions was to raise funds to support Ukraine which is entering its 75th day of war. But the organizers also wanted to tell “stories of bravery of these Ukrainians who became iconic during the war”, explained on Twitter, the Ukrainian ambassador.

During this sale, toys offered by the first lady, Olena Zelenska, but also photographs of Max Levine whose lifeless body was found in the kyiv region on April 1, were offered.

At the beginning of April, Volodymyr Zelensky had posthumously awarded this photographer a distinction representing courage. The Ukrainian president then presented the medal to the mother of the deceased photographer.
