The bombardments intensified overnight from Tuesday to Wednesday March 2 in Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second largest city.
According to the Ukrainian army, Russian airborne troops landed overnight and attacked a local hospital. Fighting was ongoing Wednesday morning.
Already Tuesday morning, the city had suffered intense bombardments, transforming this city near the border with Russia into a real battlefield. The headquarters of the regional administration had in particular been completely destroyed by a Russian strike.
On the side of Kiev, the Russian assault seems imminent. On Tuesday, the television tower was bombed. According to the Pentagon, however, the progress of the Russian army is slowed down, hampered by Ukrainian resistance.
In Zhytomyr, 140 kilometers from the capital, rescuers are looking for possible survivors in the middle of the rubble after a bombardment on a residential area.
