In the family of amazing mods developed by fans, here comes today Chronicles of the Second War: Tides of Darkness. Designed as a personalized campaign for Warcraft III: Reforged, this project has been in the works for more than three years under the leadership of a handful of enthusiasts. This one is aimed at both early fans and newbies, since it offers to replay the campaign on the side of the Horde of Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness from 1995. Ideal, as you will see, to relive this cult opus from Blizzard in the best conditions.
More than just carrying Warcraft II
Indeed, the small LoreCraft Design team (which is already working on other mods, including the Alliance campaign) has gone much further than simply porting the missions of the venerable RTS as is into the game engine. Reforged. Through 17 missions and numerous new cutscenes created for the occasion, Chronicles of the Second War: Tides of Darkness mixes narrative elements from the original game with lore coming from the novels and games released after him.
Everything is therefore much richer and more coherent, especially since everything has been dubbed (in English, with French subtitles). The original music has also been brought up to date without distorting it, while numerous 3D models (characters, buildings, etc.) have been designed to bring the whole thing to life.
A work of Titan
The gameplay dated Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness was also modernized. Without betraying the heart of the missions of the original game (while improving them), Chronicles of the Second War: Tides of Darkness notably takes up the hero system and the RPG side of Warcraft IIIbut also elements of World of Warcraftespecially when it comes to boss fights.
