Warning shots fired – Suspected human smuggler fled into the forest

Large-scale operation Thursday afternoon in Lower Austria: after several refugees were apprehended, police wanted to stop a suspected smuggler at Eichkogel in Mödling. However, the man jumped out of the car and fled into a forest. The mission is running.

Passers-by had alerted the police because a group of refugees had been abandoned by a smuggler. According to “Krone” information, the police were able to pick up about 20 refugees on site.

The search for the alleged tug was then started. A short time later, a suspicious vehicle was stopped. However, the handlebars jumped out of the car and fled to a nearby wooded area. The police immediately followed suit and fired warning shots into the ground. The fugitive has not yet been caught.
