- The Verdi service union has called on Lufthansa ground staff at seven German airports to go on a warning strike from Tuesday.
- According to the airline, the strike will affect more than 100,000 passengers.
- It was not yet possible to say on Sunday whether there would be an impact on Swiss air traffic.
When asked by the Keystone-SDA news agency, both the Swiss airline and Zurich Airport were unable to provide any information about any restrictions and cancellations in air traffic. More detailed information is expected on Monday.
Lufthansa special flight schedule
The strike at the Lufthansa locations in Frankfurt/Main, Munich, Hamburg, Berlin, Düsseldorf, Cologne-Bonn and Stuttgart will begin on Tuesday at 4 a.m. and end on Wednesday at 7:10 a.m., Verdi said.
Since all ground workers from maintenance to passenger and aircraft handling are called on a warning strike, there will likely be major flight cancellations and delays, according to Verdi. According to Verdi, different times apply for areas that are not close to passengers, such as freight or technology.
Lufthansa says it is currently working on a special flight plan that will be published soon.
