Blue alert! This Tuesday, April 4, 2023, the recall of a blue from Provence in a tray sold throughout France has just been carried out. We tell you more!

Product recalls have become quite common in the daily life of the French. Every week dozens of references are recalled throughout the territory. If you don’t know where to find this information, just go to the site Drink reminder which groups all of these products in detail with the batch numbers and the reasons for the recall. If this week, as Easter approaches, chocolates from the Pralibel brand have already been recalled, it is the turn of a blue from Provence to pay the price.

If you have recently purchased blue soft cheese from Provence you should check to see if it is not affected. Indeed it is an unbranded blue cheese from Provence distributed by the company Distral in all large and medium-sized French stores that is targeted by the recall. Several batches of the same product are concerned with different expiry dates:

What is causing these recalls?

These sheep’s blue and cream cheeses packaged in the form of a 125 g tray throughout France would be contaminated with listeria monocytogenes. It is therefore strongly recommended for all people who have purchased this product to no longer consume it and to return it directly to the point of sale. The trade will proceed either to an exchange or to a total refund of the sum.

If you or someone in your household has consumed the product and has symptoms such as fever, headache, body aches, a consultation with a doctor is strongly recommended. Be aware that listeriosis can in some cases lead to a serious form and that it has an incubation period of up to eight weeks.
