In Grossarl, the state of Salzburg even activated flood protection. Residents who had only fled mudslides and floods in 2021 packed the most important things on Saturday morning as a precaution and hoped for a relaxation. Which also came. The weather service appeased. “On Sunday there will be more showers, but they will no longer cover the country,” says Michael Butschek from Geosphere Austria. “Nevertheless, small-scale flooding can still occur.
