The optimistic doctor strikes again! Guest of the program “It’s looking at you”, broadcast this Tuesday, January 25 on LCP, Martin Blachier tried to reassure the most worried French people about the peak of contamination and the arrival of the Omicron sub-variant.

While the country counts more than 500,000 cases of contamination in less than twenty-four hours, this Tuesday, January 25, Martin Blachier once again wanted to reassure the French. Guest on the set of the show “It is in your interest”, broadcast on the LCP channel, the 36-year-old doctor wanted to allay the concerns of some about the Omicron wave and its BA.2 variant. “Resuscitations are still falling. The peak has actually passed Île-de-France but we have a peak that is slow to come in the rest of France”, he explains to journalist Myriam Encaoua.
However, for Martin Blachier, the arrival of the Omicron sub-variant and the daily figures should not lead to general panic. With his eternal optimism, the father of the family invites viewers to “take a step back” in the face of these new data. “I think we’re way too stuck on it. You have to understand that the 2020-2021 pre-Omicron mode (…) is over”, he assures with a broad smile. Wishing to bring good news, the famous epidemiologist develops his theory. While the ratio “severe forms has been divided by more than ten”, today, the main hospitalizations recorded are those “secondary cases” or “unvaccinated”. Since then, Martin Blachier calls for common sense. “Even if a new variant emerges, indeed, it can go up again, he says calmly. But we’re all immune“. If other views of Covid are likely to arise, Martin Blachier assures that these will be similar to “waves of colds or waves of flu”. Reassuring news that can only bring a wave of relief for the French whose daily life rhymes with health protocol for two years now.

Martin Blachier boycotted by some media
Martin Blachier has only one motto: put an end to anxiety-provoking messages and allay concerns about the evolution of the pandemic If this position reassures some French people, the latter, however, is not to the liking of some of his colleagues. When he came on the show 24h Pujadas, broadcast on Monday, January 27 on LCI, one of the main speakers specializing in the question of Covid-19 mentioned the fact that some of his colleagues have taken a dim view of his numerous television appearances since the start of the health crisis. “You have been harshly criticized. When I say that, I weigh my words”, launched David Pujadas, while his interlocutor acknowledged the facts, specifying that he had been “boycott certain media”.
And the 36-year-old doctor goes even further in his statements. Indeed, some “experts” even have “asked to some media” of no longer invite him to their television sets. Asked about the reason for these criticisms, the LCI guest felt that his “character can, sometimes, annoy“. However, it will take more to permanently remove Martin Blachier from the small screen.
