“We got fucked up for a month”, laments Amel Bent on the Marina Battista controversy

It was an audition that marked viewers and Internet users. Last year, Marina Battista, an 18-year-old woman from Tarn-et-Garonne, tried her luck at The Voicewith its revival of Never Enough from the musical film The Greatest Showman. His performance had amazed internet usersand yet, no armchair had turned overwhich created a lively controversy on social networks. Indeed, the judges have been the target of much criticism on the Internet. Many Internet users felt that the elimination of the young woman was an injustice.

“We got screwed for a month”recalls Amel Bent, after the second audition of the young woman, Saturday February 19, 2022. “Ah yes me, I was not there, I was in Argentina. When I learned everything that was happening, I was embarrassed”adds Florent Pagny, who did not remember the candidate. A year later, the interpreter of My philosophyadmits that she and the other judges had made a big mistake by letting Marina Battista go. “We had completely screwed up, we hadn’t gone there because we were at a stage of the adventure where we were no longer completely sealed off”explains Amel Bent. “That night, we came out of the recording and we were like, ‘La petite Marine, what have we done?'”.

A successful second pass

For her return to the show, the candidate interpreted hurt by Christina Aguilera. This time, two coaches turned around : Marc Lavoine and Florent Pagny. Marina Battista finally decided to join Florent Pagny’s teamwho was angry with himself for letting her slip away in 2021. “At one point, we can’t let a little girl like that pass. seen everything she does to us?
