Schoolchildren will have to wear a mask when school starts again on Monday, November 2. "The wearing of masks (at school) will be extended to primary school children from the age of 6", underlines Jean Castex, during his speech.

This measure is part of a strengthened health protocol, which follows the announcements of Emmanuel Macron, during his televised address on Wednesday, October 28. "From the start of Monday, the health protocol will be adapted and reinforced to ensure the protection of all, children, teachers, parents of students. In accordance with the opinion sent to us yesterday by the High Council of Public Health on wearing of the mask will be extended to elementary school children from the age of six. " , he said.

A decrease in student mixing

Earlier in the morning, the Minister of Education, Jean-Michel Blanquer, specified that maintaining the opening of schools will be possible thanks to a reduction in the mixing of students or an increase in ventilation.

Details are awaited concerning the course of the classes, namely in half-groups as requested by the unions.
