Wentworth Miller: He finished with Prison Break

Wentworth Miller is no longer available for a sequel to "Prison Break". He justifies his decision on Instagram.

Wentworth Miller (48) excludes a return to his former hit series "Prison Break" and thus buries hopes for a sixth season. On Instagram, he explained his decision never to slip into the role of Michael Scofield again.

"I'm out. From PB. Officially," he writes on his profile. As a homosexual man, he is no longer interested in playing straight characters. Their stories have already been told enough. "Well, no more Michael," the actor continued. He can understand that the fans are disappointed. "I am sorry."

Former colleagues speak up

His former "Prison Break" colleagues quickly spoke up. Dominic Purcell (50), who plays his brother in the series, wrote: "I fully support and understand your argument." Sarah Wayne Callies (43), who embodies his great love in the series, also supports her former colleague: "With gratitude for all the work together and with deep love, I express my support for this decision," said the actress on her Instagram account.

Wentworth Miller starred as Michael Scofield in "Prison Break" from 2005 to 2009, who helped his older brother escape prison. A fifth season followed in 2017, and in 2018 the US network Fox said that another sequel to "Prison Break" was in the "early stage of development". Dominik Purcell only fueled the rumors about another season in September. It is still unclear whether the series will continue without Miller.
