Thomas Gottschalk leads through the last edition in November

At the end of the year, Thomas Gottschalk says goodbye to “Wetten, dass…?”. Michelle Hunziker will not be by his side then.
Thomas Gottschalk (73) will be one last time in November through the German cult show “Wetten, dass…?” to lead. The broadcaster and the legend of the presenter have confirmed this. The 73-year-old would like to explain in detail why it should be over after that at a later date.
“We’re really looking forward to the last big ‘Wetten, dass..?’ show with Thomas Gottschalk,” explains ZDF program director Nadine Bilke the magazine “Bunte”. She would like to thank the moderator on behalf of the broadcaster and the numerous colleagues involved in the show. Gottschalk “created countless unforgettable moments” together with the well-known guests and the betting candidates.
‘Wetten, dass..?’: With Gottschalk but without Hunziker
Gottschalk himself also confirms his upcoming “Wetten, dass ..?” “In due course I will explain in detail to the audience, who have faithfully accompanied me through my life as a show host, why I believe it is right to say ‘Wetten, dass..?’ after this show. stop,” he tells the magazine. The public has a right to it, but there are many reasons.
Gottschalk also indicates that his longtime co-moderator Michelle Hunziker (46) will not be there. “As far as Michelle is concerned, I agree with ZDF: beginning and end shake hands,” says Gottschalk. “I managed the first show alone, I can do it with the last one too.” Hunziker’s management has confirmed that it will not appear. A reason for this is not yet known.
It was supposed to be a once-in-a-lifetime comeback
“Bet that..?” was originally discontinued in late 2014. However, almost seven years later, in November 2021, the format returned. The actually unique comeback of the show classic was so successful with almost 14 million viewers on home devices that ZDF could hardly avoid planning further editions.
“We are very happy about the great success of the anniversary edition. A sequel was actually never planned. In view of the great response, however, we will certainly think about it again,” said the then ZDF program director Dr. Norbert Himmler at the request of the news agency spot on news.
There was another edition in 2022. The last ‘Wetten, dass..?’ show with Gottschalk and without Hunziker is scheduled for November 25th in Offenburg. Advance ticket sales are scheduled to begin in the fall.
