The teenager placed in police detention

The worst was avoided and no injuries were reported during these events which disrupted the tranquility of the establishment. A criminal investigation was opened by the Rennes public prosecutor’s office and entrusted to the departmental security brigade. Although the Rennes prosecutor said the teenager went to class with “apparently intending to kill his English teacher”the motive for this attack, however, remains to be determined through the investigation.

According to BFMTV, which is based on the account of a police source, the fact that this English teacher confiscated her student’s smartphone a few days ago could be the source of the conflict. VSgiven the young age of the teenager, she is not subject to traditional police custody but has been placed in detentiona procedure in which the parents of a minor aged between 10 and 13 can attend and during which the adolescent is interviewed by the police for a maximum period of 12 consecutive hours.
