Series Obi-Wan Kenobi, broadcast since May 27, 2022 on Disney+, is entering its home stretch: episode 4 is now available, this June 8, 2022, on the subscription video on demand (SVOD) platform and there are none left only two to complete the miniseries. The outcome is therefore imminent for the adventure of the Jedi knight who has become a hermit.

Episode 4 ofObi-Wan Kenobi follows in the wake of the three previous ones: it refers to certain elements of the saga, which are not always easy to grasp without in-depth knowledge of the work. Some winks are obvious, others will only speak to fans. We saw it in episode 3 with a reference to another famous Jedi who read the comics and saw the animated series.

But the series is also an opportunity to fill in some screenplay “holes” in the saga. This is what she does herself, moreover, by lifting the veil on a piece of the life of the Jedi between episodes III and IV. And that’s what some scenes also cause. One passage in particular partly answers a question that we can ask ourselves: what happened to certain Jedi?

The tragic fate of some Jedi

The scene in question takes place halfway through the episode: Obi-Wan is looking for Leia, in the Fortress of the Inquisitorius, which serves as the base of the Galactic Empire on the planet Nur. The Jedi arrives in a large room that looks like a horror museum. On each side, we discover a sort of gallery, with an individual in each alcove.

We understand then that it is about Jedi. The remains have been frozen in some kind of amber and left in plain sight to anyone passing through this hallway—for Darth Vader’s pleasure or to crush any resistance from other captured Jedi, to force them into submission under pain. to meet a terrible fate?

When Emperor Palpatine revealed his true nature as a Sith Lord, he not only converted to the Dark Side’s most promising Jedi, Anakin Skywalker, by making him his right-hand man — Darth Vader. At the same time, he enacted Order 66, a secret code that required nearly all clone troopers to hunt down and kill Jedi.

Order 66 is shown in Revenge of the Sith, released in theaters in 2005. It was the trigger for the Great Jedi Purge, which spanned years. Series Obi-Wan Kenobi suggest it with an unfortunate Jedi who ends up being overtaken by members of the Inquisition – former Jedi who ended up giving in to the Dark Side, like Darth Vader.

So not all Jedi were killed where they were found in the galaxy. Some were captured and brought to the Fortress of the Inquisitorius, which serves as a base for members of the Inquisition, such as Reva. The survivors of Order 66 were then tortured to force them to switch to the Dark Side. Scenario that obviously lived Reva, moreover.

Nur and this bastion are notably mentioned in the video game Jedi: Fallen Order — the hero, Cal Kestis, has a mission there. This is also where the final phase of the game is played, with Cere Junda, Trilla Suduri (the Second Sister) and… Darth Vader. The series goes further this time, showing more clearly what happens to those who do not submit.

It’s unclear if Obi-Wan Kenobi recognized any — he remains speechless and obviously stunned and horrified. However, the most erudite Internet users have identified two of them: Tera Sinube and Pablo-Jill. There is also a young child (a padawan) with his helmet still on his head. We know with Revenge of the Sith that Darth Vader and his acolytes are capable of slaughtering them.
