Educational trips to the sea, the countryside or in the city, open schools, truancy schools, learning leisure activities… Here is what the "learning vacation" system launched by the French Ministry of Education will include. € 200 million for the vacation of 1 million students.
This Saturday June 6, the Minister of National Education Jean-Michel Blanquer presented in detail the device "learning holidays" who will propose 50,000 short stays for 1 million children and will completely free for the most modest families. To make up for the educational delay accumulated during confinement, children will be able to take advantage of a new kind of vacation combining sporting, cultural and educational activities.
Open schools
These "learning holidays" will be divided into four categories among which we discover the "open schools". As indicated by his name, a number of schools will be opened to students during the summer period in order to offer them "school support activities but also cultural and sporting activities". These 2,500 schools ranging from primary to high school, will welcome 400,000 children this summer instead of 70,000 in normal times.
Open truancy schools
The "éopen truancy schools " will offer the same follow-up to students as "open schools", except that they are located by the sea or in the countryside. Stays that will allow children to leave "discovering nature and local heritage". This formula will be reserved for children under the age of 17 and will offer accommodation for children in small groups, in boarding schools or in tents.
Learning summer camps and learning leisure centers
Similarly, the Minister announced that 250,000 places in summer camps "learners" and 300,000 in similar centers will be offered. He clarified that 200,000 places would be reserved in summer camps "learners" for "young people from priority areas of the city".
Children can apply for stays via an internet platform put online from June 12. We will find out in detail what vacations will be offered in each region.
