Coronavirus Covid-19: Symptoms That Should Alert

Identified in January 2020 in China, the Covid-19 virus then spread around the world. To date, more than 218,000 positive cases have been identified.

There is not yet a vaccine against Covid-19, to stem the progression of the spread, the French government has therefore put in place containment measures, in particular to protect people at risk, likely to develop complications from illness (elderly people, immunocompromised people, people who suffer from chronic respiratory diseases, etc.).

Certain symptoms should alert, and require monitoring:

  • Fever
  • A feeling of fever
  • Breathing difficulties
  • Dry cough
  • Shortness of breath
  • Sneezing

I have symptoms of Covid-19, what should I do?

Fever, cough, feeling short of breath … Can you spot symptoms that could be those of the Covid-19 virus? Here's the procedure to follow :

  • Stay at home, and don't plan to travel
  • Rest
  • Avoid contact with others
  • Do not take anti-inflammatory drugs
  • Do not go to a doctor before having contacted him by phone, turn to teleconsultation, or contact the care center in your region
  • Do not contact 15, only if you have difficulty breathing

Also, whether or not I have symptoms, I protect my loved ones from contamination, even during confinement, by taking all the necessary hygiene measures:

  • I wash my hands very regularly during the day
  • I cough and sneeze in my elbow
  • I avoid all physical contact
  • I blow my nose with a disposable tissue that I throw away after use
  • I limit my trips

Note that the incubation period is, a priori from 3 to 5 days, but that it can go up to 14 days in some patients, hence the advantage of scrupulously respecting the rules of hygiene.
