The president will take advantage of a week without the Council of Ministers to reflect on the “meeting with the Nation”. A promise renewed during his vows on Sunday evening. A meeting which remains enigmatic for the moment. A new political initiative on which Emmanuel Macron is banking heavily.

What about the “meeting with the Nation”? While questions remain around a possible reshuffle following the postponement of the first Council of Ministers of the year, the President of the Republic is working on his new political initiative. A promise renewed during his wishes to the French on Sunday evening. After the great national debate, the National Refoundation Council, the 100 days of post-pension reform appeasement or even the meetings in Saint-Denis with party leaders, Emmanuel Macron is attacking 2024 with a new political strategy.

Emmanuel Macron should announce in the coming weeks how the Nation must meet the challenges that await it in the long term. The president believes that France’s repair phase, in which the country has been since 2017, is now over. According to the tenant of the Elysée, it is time to prepare future generations to face the future. With this new political initiative, the Head of State sees the opportunity to spread a message of unity to his compatriots while shedding light on the legacy he will leave after his two five-year terms.

The outlines of the meeting still unclear

For the moment, the president has not clearly announced how this political initiative will materialize. A priori, no big speeches, specific moment or dedicated day. According to an advisor to the executive, the meeting with the nation should be divided into several interventions and sequences throughout the month of January with two main axes: education and ecology.
