Starting with Whatsapp Beta for Android 2.22.3.1, there is also the option of listening to voice messages more flexibly. As soon as you call up a received voice message, it will continue to be played, even if you switch to another area of the WhatsApp interface. For this purpose, an element is displayed in the surface in the upper area, which signals to the user that he is currently listening to a voice message. The screenshot above shows what that looks like.
The playback of the voice message can also be paused or canceled using this element. A progress bar indicates how long the voice message is still going. For everyone who is familiar with the function: In betas from Whatsapp for iOS, the function appeared earlier for testing.
