- WhatsApp has introduced a new version of WhatsApp Desktop for Windows 11.
- It is now a native app for the system.

If you wanted to use WhatsApp Messenger on a PC with Windows 11, you could do so with WhatsApp Desktop or via WhatsApp Web. In both cases, however, you had to do without some popular features, and the solution is not the most performant. That should change now. Because after a long beta phase, WhatsApp has presented a new desktop app for Windows.
Better performance
Not only should it load faster, but its structure and design are also based on classic Windows applications. Furthermore, it is now possible to make video calls with up to 8 people and voice calls with up to 32 people. According to the messenger, the limit should be further expanded in the future. Link previews and stickers are now also available on PC.
WhatsApp Desktop for Windows is the first completed of three new apps the messenger is currently working on. A native app for Mac and Android tablets will also be available soon. Both are currently available for testing in a beta version.
Active connection to the cell phone is no longer required
The new apps also allow you to use WhatsApp without a cell phone. To do this, you must first link your account once. A WhatsApp account can be linked to up to four devices.
