WhatsApp on new cell phone: iPhone to iPhone
The WhatsApp move from iPhone to iPhone works without much effort thanks to Apple’s iCloud. There are a few prerequisites to be considered: You must be logged into iCloud and need sufficient free storage space to create the backup – both on the phone and in iCloud. To activate iCloud for Messenger, tap the ideas on top of your name and then on iCloud. Here you have the switch next to it Whatsapp flip it over so that it lights up green. Now start WhatsApp and select in the ideas the points Chats, Chat backup and Create a backup now. As soon as you have verified your phone number on WhatsApp on the new device, a window will appear asking whether you want to restore a chat backup.
WhatsApp on new mobile phone: Android to Android
To perform a WhatsApp data backup when switching from Android to Android, open WhatsApp and tap on the menu button (three dots in the top right). Choose ideas and go to Chats and Chat backup. Tap on To back up. WhatsApp then creates a chat backup. Make sure you are under Google account are signed in to Google Drive and that under Back up to Google Drive an option other than Never is set. On the new device, choose to restore from Google Drive and log into WhatsApp with your number.
iOS to Android and vice versa
Samsung is making it easier for more and more Galaxy users to migrate WhatsApp from their iPhone. With all other manufacturers, switching from iOS to Android or from Android to iOS is anything but easy. Since WhatsApp does not store any data on its own servers, you have to rely on third-party programs, some of which are subject to a fee. WhatsApp: verify old number
Since you can only use your WhatsApp account with one phone number and one device, WhatsApp will automatically log you out on the old smartphone as soon as you verify the number on the new one. Before installing WhatsApp, insert the SIM card into the new phone. During the app setup, the software will ask you to verify the phone number. Have a code sent to you by SMS or read aloud by phone and enter it. The account is now deactivated on your old device.
