When the series The Acolyte takes place in the saga Star Wars ?

In details, The Acolyte will show, for the first time in a series shot in live action, a unique period. The action of the series takes place in a period called “the High Republic”, which took place centuries before the events of episode I, The Phantom Menace. More exactly, The Acolyte takes place a hundred years before the feature film, the showrunner of the series, Leslye Headland, told Entertainment Weekly.

This period is described as the golden age of the Jedi and the Galactic Republic. However, as a first trailer, released on March 19, 2024, showed, everything is not exactly going well for the Jedi order – and they will quickly find themselves face to face with their sworn enemy, a Sith.

To sum up, The Acolyte takes place well before all the films of Star Wars. The Republic, which is experiencing its final hours in Episodes I, II and III, is at its peak, and neither Anakin Skywalker nor the future Emperor Palpatine have yet been born. Same thing for the other main characters of the different trilogies. We will therefore see neither Luke Skywalker nor Princess Leia, who are the protagonists of episodes IV, V and VI, and even less Kylo Ren and Rey, the main characters of the postlogy – episodes VII, VIII and IX.
