Which fragrance suits everyone?

We are all looking for the perfect fragrance. It has to be special, to suit us and to make us feel good. But how do we find this fragrance? We asked Stefanie Hanssen, perfumer and founder of the fragrance manufacturer Ms. Tonis Parfum, whether there is a fragrance that suits everyone and, above all, every occasion. And yes, it does exist!

A fragrance for everyone?

When we smell a fragrance, we can often judge within a few seconds whether it "suits" us or not. Once you have found your signature fragrance, you probably won't necessarily use other scents either. But there is still a fragrance note that just always works:

I would lean so far out of the window and say that citrus fragrances suit everyone. I really don't know anyone who they don't fit. They can be worn from January to December – as scents for the day because they exude an incredible sympathy.

According to Stefanie Hanssen, there are of course people who just don't like citrus fragrances because they think a fragrance has to be challenging. You probably know that when a fragrance jumps into your nose "aggressively". There are a lot of people who like that – but others don't always see it positively.

With citrus scents, you don't hit anyone's head when you wear them. You tend to increase your liking. Everything is so positively charged by it and that's why I think you don't do anything wrong for yourself. If I were to advise choosing a fragrance for an interview, it would always be a citrus fragrance. You don't do anything wrong, you are positive yourself and have a positive effect on your environment. If the conversation failed, it was something else.

Why is that?

The opposite person perceives the subtle fragrance very positively. A citrus scent euphorizes to a certain extent – not just yourself, but the other person as well. A classic win-win situation.

If you are still wondering where you should best apply the fragrance, we also have a professional recommendation for you: always where the skin pulsates and where it is relatively thin. These are the neck, cleavage and the wrists. There the scent spreads fastest and best. At the same time, it remains so subtle that it does not kill the people around you.
