White powder discovered – parents very worried: poison at the children’s playground?

White powder was scattered on a children’s playground in Klagenfurt-Welzenegg. Concerned parents have had to make this discovery twice already. The magistrate cordoned off the area. The investigation is ongoing.

On August 21, a family with friends and the little ones visited the children’s playground in the Welzenegg district. During the ball game, the little daughter came to the mother with a white, crystalline powder on her hands and asked what it was. It looked like sugar, so the girl wanted to try it right away, but her mother wouldn’t let her. Someone had spread plenty of the powder over a length of about 20 meters and a width of three meters; the assumption was obvious that it could be a plant poison. The family took a sample with them and is considering legal action on suspicion of endangering the community. “Open your eyes!” Klagenfurt” to the magistrate. The Stadtgraten detachment moved in to clear the powder. A refund was announced. On August 26, the white powder was scattered again. On that day, the magistrate had the area cordoned off with bars. “Powder and incidents are currently being reviewed,” said Mayor Christian Scheider, who puts the health and safety of the children first.
