The rumor was mentioned again by Candace Owens, Monday March 11, 2024. But who is she? A 34-year-old American journalist, she is a political commentator who does not hesitate to show her support for Donald Trump. Since 2017, she has been affiliated with the conservative movement, claiming that the former president of the United States is a “Saviour”. During the re-election campaign of Melania Trump’s husband, the commentator organized, with the BLEXIT foundation and the White House, a peaceful protest. During it, Donald Trump spoke, making some very notable remarks. He notably mentioned Candace Owens as being his friendquoting her twice by her first name, thus highlighting their complicity.

Monday March 11, 2024, the journalist surprised French Internet users by revealing a video in which she evokes Brigitte Macron. “It is neither a joke nor an exaggeration to say that, with the exception of political assassinations, this is probably the greatest political scandal in human history,” she wrote in the caption of a video which evokes the theory according to which Brigitte Macron is actually a man. Candace Owens dedicated a long video to this rumor and it has been viewed more than 1.5 million times. The commentator uses articles published in Facts & Documents but also comments made by Internet users. As a reminder, this theory made the buzz in 2011 and Brigitte Macron took matters into her own hands, taking two women to court.

Candace Owens is convinced, Brigitte Macron would in reality be a transgender woman. If the journalist decides to talk about this story in 2024, it is for a simple reason. According to his words, the “state media cover the story”, she declares before continuing: “What is happening is that two individuals have been selected to be the leaders of a nation. They were selected on the principle of blackmail“. In her video, Candace Owens evokes a conspiracy theory according to which Emmanuel Macron and his wife, who reacted to this unfounded rumor, are being manipulated. “They selected these two individuals, because they can control them, because they created the bride, because they know the story,” explains the journalist before adding: “They can therefore say, this is what you are going to do, Emmanuel Macron and Brigitte, you are going to pass these laws, and there’s nothing you can do about it, because we control you“. However, she does not specify who she is referring to by saying “they”.
