In 2022, nearly 164,000 tax households have paid real estate wealth tax, or IFI. In the detailed statistical document, we learn that households taxed by the IFI are older than those declaring income tax: The age of the first declarant of the tax household is thus 70 years old on averagewhile he is 54 years old for the first declarant of taxable households for income tax for the year 2020 (…) but not subject to the IFI.

However, the youngest households are those who declare on average the highest taxable property assets: it reaches 2.8 million euros in households where the first declarant is between 25 and 44 years old. Among older declarants, the taxable real estate is on average 2.5 million euros, including 2.4 million euros for those whose first declarant is between 65 and 74 years old.
