The musical themes of James bond have a secret that is almost sixty years old. Everyone agrees that they look alike, but it’s harder to pinpoint why.
The resemblance lies in a musical motif present in the original theme of James bond, “Dr No.”, composed in 1962 by Monty Norman, then rearranged by John Barry.
This motif (originally appeared in the song Nightmare, from Artie Shaw) has evolved alongside the character of James Bond, to such an extent that he has surpassed the work, and that some music sounds “Bond”.
