During her campaign for the presidential election, Marine Le Pen had to explain why she can no longer drive. And it’s not entirely his fault…

The decision was a very unpleasant surprise for her. Throughout her presidential campaign, Marine Le Pen has multiplied interventions, meetings and interviews to pose as “candidate of working people”betting more than ever on questions concerning purchasing power, with considerable determination to “demonize” his side. While she traveled to the four corners of France to campaign, the candidate of the National Rally bet on public transport, or even on a car with driver for “for reasons of convenience but also for security reasons”. And this, in particular because she no longer has a driving license since 2012, as she revealed to Guillaume Pley on his show Campaign HQ, last April. Asked about the subject, the daughter of Jean-Marie Le Pen has thus entrusted to have unfortunately lost. But it’s not really his fault.

Indeed, it is because of her driver that Marine Le Pen saw her driving license withdrawn, as she had explained. “[Il] was using my personal car and he tended to be a bit fast on the road. When the fines came, he said, ‘Don’t worry, I’m managing'”, she had confided. Problem, the driver in question “didn’t handle anything at all”. And his speeding was not the subject of a withdrawal of points on his license, but of course on that of the 53-year-old candidate. “It was on my driving license that the points were removed. It was obviously too late to appeal”, she had thus lamented. And to conclude: “And so, I will be obliged, one day, to take my license again.”

A “great injustice” for Marine Le Pen

It was in 2012 that The chained Duck had revealed this license withdrawal for Marine Le Pen, who had then perceived this decision as “a great injustice”because she wasn’t driving. “But I think it’s honorable of me not to have denounced the culprits”she had confided during a trip, as relayed Point in October 2014. If she could retake her license within six months of her withdrawal, the candidate would, at the time, have preferred to challenge the loss of her points in court. But the administrative court of Lille had finally rejected his request.
