Why I live: was this biopic really shot at the castle of Dammarie-les-Lys?

On the occasion of the broadcast of the TV movie Why I live on Sunday May 1, 2022, from 9:05 p.m. on TMC, Télé Star reveals to you if this biopic dedicated to Grégory Lemarchal was shot in the castle which hosted the Star Academy candidates.

Revealed during his participation in the 4th season of the star Academy on TF1, Grégory Lemarchal flew over the competition by winning this edition of the tele-hook against Lucie Bernardoni in the final. Promised for a fine career as a singer, just like the previous winners of the star Academy (Jenifer Bartoli, Nolwenn Leroy and Élodie Frégé), Grégory Lemarchal has unfortunately been overtaken by his health. Suffering from cystic fibrosis, the young musician died at just 23 on April 30, 2007. Since then, his parents, Pierre and Laurence Lemarchal, as well as his sister Leslie, have perpetuated Grégory Lemarchal’s fight through the association of the same name, which helps patients affected by cystic fibrosis and their families.

On the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the Grégory Lemarchal association, the group TF1 has decided to set up a special program on its various antennas. Thus, a focus will be made on the association in the programs of Jean-Luc Reichmann (The 12 strokes of noon), and Nikos Aliagas (50′ inside), Saturday April 30, 2022. TF1 will also rebroadcast one of Grégory Lemarchal’s most emblematic concerts at the Olympia from 12:40 a.m.. On his side, TMC will rebroadcast the TV movie devoted to the life of the late musician on Sunday May 1, 2022, from 9:05 p.m. As a reminder, this fiction, entitled why i livehad garnered an average of 7.34 million viewers during its very first broadcast on the antenna TF1, Monday, September 7, 2020 in prime time.

Why I live: another castle to represent that of Dammarie-les-Lys on the screen

The filming of why i live began in January 2020 at the Château de Boigne in Chambéry. The latter has been transformed to look like the castle of Vives Eaux in Dammarie-les-Lyswhich was the famous castle in which the students of the star Academy resided and worked throughout the show. The biopic dedicated to the life of Grégory Lemarchal was also shot at La Ravoirewhich served as the setting for the scenes set in the Lemarchal family home. Several sequences were also recorded at the studios of La Plaine-Saint-Denis in Parisin particular those reproducing the finale of the 4th season of the star Academy. At last, a scene was shot in the mythical hall of the Olympia in Paris.
