Finally the end of performance problems on Windows 11?
As (too) often with major Windows updates, the latest major Windows 11 patch, numbered 22H2, caused some inconvenience for some users. Microsoft even made it official by vaguely stating that ” some games and applications may suffer from lower than expected performance or stuttering on Windows 11, version 22H2 “. In question, a bug that activates the GPU performance debugging features, which are not supposed to be accessible to everyone.
Microsoft then blocked the deployment, the time to find a solution. And it is now available as a preview in Windows Update, numbered KB5020044. If you are already on Windows 11 22H2 and you are suffering from these performance issues, then you know what to do.
Also, if you have an NVIDIA GPU and are experiencing these performance issues, make sure you have the latest drivers available. We are currently at version 526.98.

This update mainly focused on fixing bugs (the full long list can be viewed here) also offers some new features. OneDrive in particular delivers more information about the level of storage as well as alerts when it is low.
Additionally, the Windows Spotlight feature is now merged into the Themes page of the Personalization entry to encourage users to use it.
