  • A new preview version has been released for Windows 11.
  • New advertising space for Microsoft services has appeared in it.
  • They are integrated into an important menu and lure with calls to action.

Windows 11 will probably receive more advertising space from Microsoft for its own services. This emerges from a new preview version that is available to participants in the Insider program. Twitter user Albacore has now shared what they look like.

The advertisement is displayed in the account menu, which you can open by right-clicking on your user picture. A bright spot suggests a need for action. A call to action will appear first. It reads something like “Complete your Profile” (roughly: complete your profile) or “Backup your Data” (roughly: back up your files).

Microsoft lures in the subscription

However, the link does not hide an important system feature. Instead, you will be redirected to OneDrive where you should sign up for a subscription. For most experienced users, this method is certainly easy to figure out.

However, the urgent wording could tempt inexperienced users to sign up for a subscription they may not need. It is still unknown when Microsoft will roll out these adjustments. Since this is a small change, it could be in one of the upcoming Patchday patches.
