Everyone uses connection sharing on their smartphone. What if this task was now simplified thanks to Windows 11?
Microsoft continues its momentum of updates and offers us a new feature that is quite practical, but restricted to a handful of users.
A fairly limited integration for the moment
Microsoft is getting up to date and finally offers a long-awaited feature on Windows 11: remote activation of the hotspot on a smartphone. The promise seems incredible: no need to activate connection sharing in your phone settings to use your computer in 4G, Windows takes care of it for you.
Yes, but there are two snags: your two devices must be interconnected via the Microsoft application (“Mobile connected” on Windows, “Link with Windows” on Android) and your smartphone must be… a Samsung Galaxy.
Even if the functionality remains quite restrictive at the moment, we can always hope for greater compatibility in the future. The Instant Hotspot, as Microsoft dubbed it, is currently only available to insiders, but should appear for other users in a future update.
