Pascal Jenny was the face of Arosa for 13 years. Now Jenny is giving up his position as tourism director and switching to the strategic level. The successor is already in the starting blocks. And still comes from within our own ranks. Roland Schuler took over the helm as a long-term deputy on May 1, 2021.
Schuler is the new tourism director of Arosa. He will take over the post of chief from Jenny, who will continue to work as President of Arosa Tourism – and will therefore remain with the destination. The tourism expert “with the greatest track record in Switzerland” – as it is not entirely immodest in a press release – saw the time after almost 13 years to switch from the operational to the strategic level.
Magic potion is said to bring luck
In keeping with the «Gauls of the Alps», the handover takes place with a secret magic potion recipe. Pascal Jenny symbolically brews and hands over the mysterious “Arosa magic drink” to his long-term partner in the management and future tourism director Schuler – well then, cheers!
Schuler is looking forward to the new challenge. “We have taken the Arosa holiday region back to the top of Swiss tourism in recent years. So that this top position can be maintained and expanded as far as possible, it is important to set standards in operational development, ”he says.
Events that are facing headwinds due to the pandemic restrictions are important, but also the further development of the Arosa summer with the “Arosa Bear Sanctuary” or the initiation of new tourist connections.
“Little space for visions”
Pascal Jenny, the resigning president, gets slightly sentimental. «The job as tourism director was my dream job. The change now comes at exactly the right time and is in line with the constantly changing framework conditions. “
Jenny continues: “Day-to-day business often leaves little space for visions and strategic concepts. In the coming years, however, this is what will be required to a great extent in tourism. I would like to help Arosa maintain the top position it has achieved and expand it as far as possible. ” (pbe)
