With the AI 360 RV2500SEU, Shark launches its first robot vacuum cleaner with 360° laser range finder

Shark wastes no time. After investing in the French robot vacuum cleaner market in 2021, the North American manufacturer is back with the Shark AI 360 RV2500SEU equipped with a self-emptying system and a 360° laser rangefinder.

Shark changes its tune for its new robot vacuum cleaner and modifies its laser navigation system. While last year’s RV2001WDEU AI VACMOP featured a rangefinder on the front of the bumper, the Shark AI 360 RV2500SEU’s is housed in a turret on top and rotates 360°. A more classic integration should allow faster and more precise mapping, according to the manufacturer. Navigation would also benefit thanks in particular to better management of obstacles at the rear.

The Robot 360 RV2500SEU seems to have another trick up its sleeve: a base with a self-draining system. Including a collector and a filter to be maintained, it allows the suction and storage of dirt picked up by the robot, without a bag. The user therefore does not have to worry about buying new ones and the capacity of the collector would apparently be sufficient to avoid emptying it for 30 days. Shark had already relied on this system with the IQ RV1000SEU. The station of the new model seems to be completely hermetic in order to capture 99.9% of dust and allergens.

If it seems to take over the best of the previous Shark robots, and should therefore even improve navigation, the new Shark AI 360 on the other hand loses the washing function of the VACMOP. The mop of the latter had however little convinced us with its too slow vibrations; so it’s not a great loss.

On the suction side, no change: there are side brushes and a central brush with an anti-hair tangle system, combining nylon bristles and plastic strips. The UltraClean mode of the VACMOP is also retained for thorough cleaning of the home. Shark finally specifies that his new robot is capable of cleaning 2 hours before having to charge it for 6 hours – which seems endless to us.

The Shark AI 360 RV2500SEU robot vacuum cleaner is already available for €600.
