Witnesses wanted – sign destroyed: truck driver takes flight

The police in Innsbruck are concerned with a hit-and-run case. In the city center, an unknown truck driver damaged a sign with his vehicle on Tuesday. He then left the scene of the accident without reporting it. The police are looking for witnesses.

The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. The driver drove his truck with a Turkish license plate along Fallmerayerstrasse in a northerly direction. At the intersection with Colingasse he turned left into it. “When turning in, he touched the sign ‘Schutzweg’, which is attached to the eastern edge of the road,” the police said. The traffic sign was completely torn off the handrail. The driver got out and placed the traffic sign on the edge of the lane. Then he continued his journey without reporting the accident.

The Innsbruck Transport Inspectorate is now asking for useful information from the population: 059133/7591
