WiZ launches an indoor camera in addition to its connected bulbs

Signify announces the launch of an offer combining lighting and security. To do this, the group is extending its WiZ connected lighting ecosystem by integrating an indoor camera with night vision into its portfolio. The latter allows, among other things, to check and visualize at any time what is happening within the home and to be notified in the event of movement or suspicious noise, indicates the company. As soon as the notification is received on the user’s smartphone, the system offers to view the interior of the house in real time via the WiZ application.

The WiZ indoor camera is wired, films with an angle of 130° and in 1080p, and has a speaker and a microSD slot. It is also equipped with a “night vision” mode which is automatically activated as soon as the light becomes insufficient. The camera can also detect sudden loud noises with the aim of sending notifications when, for example, a glass breaking sound or a fire alarm is detected. Offered at €89.99 alone, the camera is also part of a kit including three bulbs, at a price of €159.99.

The WiZ application then allows you to configure everything to simulate your presence, for example, by turning on and off automatically. This new feature also allows you to define the actions of the lighting device when motion is detected: maximum activation of brightness, flashing, lighting in bright colors, etc.

WiZ also reinforces the offer with a proposal to subscribe to a subscription service in order to benefit from additional functionalities such as the storage of videos recorded by the camera on the cloud for 30 days, the creation of detection fields and/or spheres of privacy in the selected areas or the manual triggering of simultaneous recording while viewing the images filmed by the WiZ indoor camera.

WiZ claims that 80-90% of its existing fixtures and all of its new products work with SpaceSense and will be compatible with Home Monitoring. This includes all Connected by WiZ brand lights.

The camera will be available from May 15, as will the kit including the bulbs.
