Why does he stop at “Guten Morgen Deutschland”?

The journalist and moderator Wolfram Kons will no longer moderate “Guten Morgen Deutschland” after 31 years.
“Good morning Germany” on RTL (also on RTL+) will have to do without Wolfram Kons (57) in the future. The broadcaster announced this on March 1st. For around 31 years, since 1991, Kons has moderated the early magazine. Instead, the 57-year-old will now take on a different task.
According to a statement, the broadcaster wants to increase its charitable commitment. Kons is to be responsible for this expansion. He will therefore not only continue to moderate the RTL donation marathon, but also report regularly on the activities of the RTL Foundation during the year – on all of the broadcaster’s platforms. It is not yet known which formats are planned exactly. In addition, Kons will continue to run the art magazine “ntv Inside Art”.
“To help even more children in the future”
Kons is the overall head of RTL Charity and deputy chairman of the “RTL Foundation – We help children eV”. “The help for children in Germany and the world was and is an absolute matter of the heart for me. It makes me proud that we are now expanding this commitment,” he explains in a statement. And further: “It is my greatest wish that we can help even more children in the future who urgently need support. Solidarity and cohesion have never been more important than today – in Ukraine alone it is currently going well for around 7.5 million children and their families about life and death.”
The moderator also addresses his end at “Guten Morgen Deutschland”. He was “deeply grateful for more than 30 fulfilling and exciting years with a fantastic team of early risers”. Now he’s not only looking forward to his extended tasks, but “to be honest, also to being able to sleep a little longer,” jokes Kons.
