Woman disappears on a luxury cruise – and no one knows where

The luxury cruise ship “Spectrum of the Seas” of the shipping company Royal Caribbean, which is considered one of the exclusive cruise experiences on the ocean with a capacity of 4246 passengers, was recently at the center of a potential disaster. How “Express” reported, a family from India was already spending four days on the ship when they experienced a nightmare in the middle of the ocean between Malaysia and Singapore.

According to “Express”, the father of the family woke up on the last night of their stay and was shocked to find that his wife, who had been lying next to him before, had suddenly disappeared. The ship’s overboard detection system confirmed the next morning that a person had potentially fallen overboard.

MRCC Singapore, a search and rescue coordination center, immediately sent a safety alert to nearby ships and all ships in port to search for the missing person.

Son doubts the operator information

According to “Express”, however, the woman’s son expressed doubts about the correctness of the operator information. He believed his mother, who couldn’t swim, must still be somewhere on board.

He stated that the mother obviously had fun during the holiday and that it was unlikely that she suddenly went overboard. His request to see the video footage of the incident has not yet been granted. According to “Express”, it was not possible to confirm whether the mother actually left the ship.

Authorities initiate a search operation

The shipping company Royal Caribbean has since issued a statement confirming that the ship’s crew reported the incident to local authorities and a search operation has been launched. She wants to work with the authorities and offer support to the family.
