Woody Allen: the very first images of Coup de chance, his 50th film with a 100% French cast

Woody Allen today unveiled the trailer for his 50th feature film, “Coup de chance”. Lou de Laâge, Niels Schneider, Melvil Poupaud and Valérie Lemercier are in the cast.

A year after Rifkin’s Festival, Woody Allen is already back with his new feature film: Coup de chance. 12 years after Midnight in Paris, the filmmaker is back in the French capital for his 50th film.

Carried by a 100% French-speaking cast made up of Lou de Laâge, Niels Schneider, Melvil Poupaud, Valérie Lemercier, Grégory Gadebois, Elsa Zylberstein, Sara Martins and Guillaume de Tonquédec, this thriller is presented by Woody Allen as “a poisonous thriller in the vein of of Match Point”.

The film follows Fanny (de Laâge) and Jean (Poupaud), a couple to whom everything seems to smile: fulfilled in their professional life, they live in a magnificent apartment in the beautiful districts of Paris and seem to be in love as on the first day. But when Fanny crosses, by chance, Alain (Schneider), a former high school friend, she is immediately capsized. They see each other again very quickly and get closer and closer…

If in June 2022, the 86-year-old filmmaker announced during a live Instagram with Alec Baldwin that Luck would be his last film, his agent finally went back on his remarks stating that Woody Allen did not intend to take his retirement.

Stroke of luck will be released in theaters on September 27.
