TAll Argentina have been jubilant since their national team’s victory in the World Cup final against France on 18 December. However, the party was tarnished by the behavior of some players who provoked or even insulted some of their opponents during this World Cup. The attitude of a certain player often comes up on social networks, that of the Argentinian goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, who is not on his first skid, recalls RTL.

The world champion, who was also voted best goalkeeper of the tournament, notably exhibited this trophy in his private parts after the final. He then justified this obscene gesture at the microphone of Argentine radio La Red: “I did it because the French booed me. Arrogance doesn’t work with me. During the celebration in Buenos Aires, he was seen with a baby doll in his arms on which he had hung a portrait of Kylian Mbappé, the victim of numerous chambers by the Argentines.

Expert in provocation

The Argentinian goalkeeper is an expert in the field of provocation. Before the final, Emiliano Martinez notably declared at a press conference that Kylian Mbappé “does not know enough about football”. At the end of the meeting between Argentina and the Netherlands, he distinguished himself by inviting the Dutch coach to “shut up”. A procedure was opened against him after this insult. These behaviors strongly irritate certain football personalities. This is the case of Hervé Renard, the coach of Saudi Arabia, who calls on Fifa to react. “A World Cup player must not allow himself certain things. […] Fifa must take its responsibilities and call to order so that this does not happen again, ”he demanded on RTL. However, the international federation is not competent to judge the behavior of a footballer off the pitch.
