Finding the right perfume is not easy. But with the following tips every woman should find something.
The sense of smell is often underestimated. Humans allow themselves to be guided, seduced or sometimes even manipulated by smells. And among other things, the scent can also have a strong influence on the choice of a possible partner. It is not for nothing that it is said that you have to be able to smell yourself good. But how can women find the perfect perfume for themselves?
It depends on the vote
If a person perceives a scent as pleasant, this does not necessarily mean that the other person agrees. Even the most expensive perfume is of no use if it does not match the smell of your own body. You smell good to another person when the body’s own odor harmonizes with the perfume.
First of all, you should answer the question for yourself: What do I like? Those who love notes of fruits such as orange, grapefruit or lemon can orientate themselves towards a more fruity fragrance. But there are also countless possibilities and variants in the realm of spices. Those who like vanilla may tend towards a perfume that also has vanilla as a top note.
Test perfumes in the morning
Even during the pandemic, it is sometimes possible to seek advice from experts in a specialist shop or department while observing hygiene standards. If customers want to test a perfume, they can often ask employees for help, for example, by spraying the scents on a piece of paper.
“Our customers can finally test fragrances again and the joy is great,” explains Angela von Rebay, purchasing manager for cosmetics at Ludwig Beck, when asked by the news agency spot on news. “When trying out care products and decorative cosmetics, we make sure that the customer does not take the products straight out of the jar and, for example, does not apply lipstick directly to the skin. In principle, it is better to concentrate on a few fragrances when testing, because at some point an untrained nose needs a break. The morning is particularly suitable for looking for a new perfume, because then the sense of smell is more sensitive than later in the day.
Application tips
And how should the perfume be applied once the right fragrance has been found? On the one hand, many experts recommend using the perfume sparingly so that it does not appear too intrusive. On the other hand, the scent should be sprayed on from below, since scent molecules rise upwards. It is also often advised to apply the perfume immediately after a bath or shower, if possible.
In addition, the sprayed perfume should not be rubbed – some people rub their wrists together, for example. By rubbing in, the intensity of the scent is, however, significantly reduced. If you opt for a slightly heavier perfume, you can spray the scent into the air and step through the cloud of scent once, which spreads it more evenly.
