After the MacBooks and other computer products, Apple has set out to present its new features on iOS 17. They concern essential applications of our iPhones, namely Messages, FaceTime, and Telephone.

Phone

On the Phone application, Apple will now allow customize contact cards. Users will be able to choose a photo, then adjust the background color, and write the name of the person with a personalized typography. Everything is associated with Callkit for developers, who will thus be able to offer dedicated tools.

Live Voicemail

Live Voicemail is a feature that seems to us to be very inspired by generative AIs and their way of writing their answers before our eyes, as if they were thinking about them like a human being. Thus, Live Voicemail will allow transcribe in writing the content of a voicemail message left on your phone.

FaceTime

FaceTime is also entitled to an update, and a new function allowing to leave a video message if your caller does not answer. Which ultimately comes down to… sending a video.

The Messages app is also getting a makeover. First — we’re not going to complain — the design of the app is more refined, getting rid of app suggestions that overhang the input bar. Now, a plus button is located on the lower left corner, and allows you to find the app you want.

But the main thing is not there. Very fashionable, voice notes can be transcribed in writing in these Messages. Of the live locations are also available — yes, it was not available before.

Finally, a function called Check in made his appearance. It allows you to send a contact an estimated time of arrival, an automatic notification when arriving at a given location, and to send an alert in the event of a delay.
