Since the first film in the popular action series “X-Men” was released in 2000, Hugh Jackman always seems to be getting toned in his role as Wolverine. The films are based on the Marvel comics by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby and fans of the franchise have put forward an exciting theory for his appearance.

According to their assumptions, at the beginning of the series, Wolverine fought less violently with his opponents, which is why his healing powers were not used quite as often. But with each successive film, the fight scenes became more intense, which also challenged his skills more.

Another reason for his muscular body is much more obvious: Hugh Jackman was only second choice for the role of the title character Logan aka Wolverine. Only after Dougray Scott (“Mission Impossible 2”, “Batwoman”) had to decline due to time constraints did he get the part from director Bryan Singer (“Operation Walküre – The Stauffenberg Assassination”).

Since this decision was made at very short notice, Hugh Jackman was not able to prepare long enough for this role and remained quite “skinny”. Since then, he has been able to use his time more precisely and has trained longer for each new “X-Men” film, which explains his stately stature.
