Xavier Naidoo: A criminal complaint was filed against him

Criminal charges have been brought against the Mannheim musician Xavier Naidoo (48, "This Way"). The company "Human Blood", based in London, which sells "Statement Fashion", has submitted these to the Cologne public prosecutor's office and also published the content of the letter on its own Facebook page.

"We then let the public prosecutor check the lines of text," says the commentary to the post. And in the letter itself it says: "We would like to file a criminal complaint against Xavier Kurt Naidoo on suspicion of sedition, punishable under paragraph 130 of the Criminal Code." In the following, those passages from a video clip that appeared at the beginning of the week are reproduced that are to be "checked" by the public prosecutor.

Video clip with consequences

The 45 second clip shows Naidoo apparently singing a few lines of a previously unpublished song on a webcam. The video literally says: "There is no man far and wide who can still save this country. The main thing is that it is politically correct, even if you die of it." Naidoo continues to describe what happens if a murder occurs almost every day, in which the guest steals a life from the host. Nobody is allowed to torture his people. "Let's finish it, and now. You're lost," the singer ends his contribution.

Xavier Naidoo commented on the video on Wednesday. In a statement that he posted on social networks, it says, among other things: "Xavier Naidoo has very decisively rejected allegations of a short video circulating on social media with a text from 2018. Racial hatred and xenophobia are completely against him strange, even if he sometimes expresses himself emotionally and artistically. "

In addition to the countless criticisms, the video has a first tangible consequence: Xavier Naidoo is rid of his jury job at "Deutschland sucht den Superstar" (RTL). The broadcaster had asked Naidoo to "fully comment on the video". But apparently this did not happen. "Xavier Naidoo has not yet responded to our offer to explain his misleading and contradicting statements plausibly," said RTL when asked by spot on news. "We can see from the many reactions that the topic is moving, so we would have liked an immediate, public discussion with him. That is for us freedom of expression. But that did not happen. Therefore he will not return to 'DSDS' give."

According to the "Bild" newspaper, the Cologne public prosecutor is currently examining responsibility for the criminal complaint received. Once this is resolved, the content is at stake …
