XDefiant postponed again, it smells bad for Ubisoft’s FPS

Ubisoft developed for several years XDefiant, a multiplayer first-person shooter, which intends to try to overshadow the Call of Duty of Activision…but it still has to come out one day. THE FPS was entitled to an open beta this summer, but since then, Ubisoft struggling to publish your game.

A time awaited this summer, XDefiant had not passed the compliance tests of PlayStation And Xbox to be released on the manufacturers’ online stores, the developers therefore endeavored to correct the concerns raised, and hoped to launch the title by October 2023. Here we are, and nowUbisoft publishes a new press release that is not very reassuring :

Thanks to everyone who participated in our recent public testing session and who continue to support us as we build XDefiant. PTS has once again shown us your interest in our fast-paced shooter gameplay, uniquely designed maps, objective-driven modes, and iconic faction roster.

But it also exposed some inconsistencies in the gaming experience that we need to resolve before we kick off our preseason. We have therefore made the difficult decision to delay the XDefiant pre-season.

The team will continue to work to resolve these issues and test them to ensure we achieve our goal of being the best arcade shooter in its class. We’ll share more information about preseason and testing as it happens.

Thanks again for your support – we’re working hard to make something truly special and we couldn’t do it without you.

— The XDefiant Development Team
