In a few days, Xiaomi will unveil two new smartphones: the Xiaomi 13 and the Xiaomi 13 Pro. Both devices benefit from major changes compared to the previous generation, especially with regard to their design.
A few weeks ago, we discovered what the Xiaomi 13 Pro was going to look like through renderings made by @That_Kartikey and the artist @SPinfo_blog. The latter revealed that the smartphone would benefit from a design quite different from that of the Xiaomi 12 Pro of the previous year, since it will be entitled to a new square photo module.
The latter will house three 50 MP sensors, including a 1-inch Sony IMX989 main sensor, the same as the recent Xiaomi 12S Ultra. We also know that the screen will be curved, and will take advantage of thinner bezels than previous generations. OnLeaks has just revealed new details about the Xiaomi 13 Pro screen through renderings, including its exact size.
The Xiaomi 13 Pro will have a smaller screen than the Xiaomi 12 Pro
While the first renders of the Xiaomi 13 Pro did not reveal the screen of the smartphone, the leaker OnLeaks comes as usual to lift the veil on the entire design of the devicejust ahead of its scheduled launch at the end of November.
Now we know that the Xiaomi 13 Pro’s screen will measure 6.65 inches, against 6.73 inches for that of the Xiaomi 12 Pro. The new model should therefore be slightly smaller than the previous version, which will appeal to those who find that smartphones are getting bigger and bigger.
OnLeaks claims that the Xiaomi 13 Pro will measure 163.0 x 74.6 x 8.8mm, compared to the Xiaomi 12 Pro’s 163.6 x 74.6 x 8.2mm. The Xiaomi 13 Pro is therefore effectively shorter, but above all much thicker than its predecessor. In question, the arrival of the 1-inch IMX989 sensor, and probably Adopting a battery with larger capacity.
The Xiaomi 12 Pro only took advantage of a 4600 mAh battery, which was fair for a full-size smartphone. The Xiaomi 13 Pro should be equipped with a battery with a capacity between 4800 and 5000 mAhand the latter will always be compatible with 120 W fast charging. Finally, it should be noted that although this is not specified on the OnLeaks renderings, the Xiaomi 13 Pro will still benefit from a partnership with Leica in photosas was the case with the Xiaomi 12S, 12S Pro and 12S Ultra.
The Xiaomi 13 screen becomes flat, and slightly larger
For its part, the Xiaomi 13 will be entitled to an almost entirely different design, but with a screen of only 6.36 inches. This is more than the 6.28 inches of the previous Xiaomi 12. The renderings unveiled by OnLeaks show us a flat-screen smartphone with still three sensors on the back placed in a square photo module.
This flat screen is quite special, since as on the iPhone 14 or even on the Nothing Phone (1), the latter finally allows you to enjoy uniform borders on all sides. According to OnLeaks, the Xiaomi 13 will measure 152.8 x 71.5 x 8.3 mmagainst 152.7 x 69.9 x 8.2 mm for the Xiaomi 12. The length is therefore similar, while the screen stretches in width due to the absence of curved edges. For its part, the thickness is slightly revised upwards, in particular because of the adoption of a slightly larger 50 MP main photo sensor compared to the previous IMX766.
We can also note flat aluminum borders for the frame of the device, like the iPhone. As for the colors, the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro are presented to us here in white and black, but we already know that Xiaomi is preparing a leather version in pink as well as green for the Pro model. The latter will also benefit from configurations with up to 16 GB of RAMa first on this model.
