XV of France: an invincibility record can fall against Australia

The XV of France has not lost since July 17, 2021 and a short loss, 33-30, against… Australia in Brisbane (the last confrontation between these two teams). Since then, the Blues have chained ten victories: Argentina, Georgia, New Zealand, Italy, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, England and Japan (twice), in chronological order.

A series of ten victories which allowed Fabien Galthié’s men to equal an old record dating from the 1930s: ten victories from 1931 to 1937, but gleaned against modest opponents, Italy and Germany, the Blues being then excluded from the Tournament for brutality. By lining up an eleventh consecutive success tonight against Australia, this XV of France would simply go down in history.
