Defender Silvan Hefti leaves the Young Boys after a year and a half and moves to Italy.

Silvan Hefti dares to take the step abroad and switches from Young Boys to Genoa. The Serie A club, with which Valon Behrami is also under contract, announced the transfer of the 24-year-old full-back on Monday evening. There was no information about the terms of the contract or the transfer.

At the “Rossoblu” Hefti should stabilize the defensive. Genoa, who is coached by Andrei Shevchenko, has conceded 37 goals in 19 league games and is currently only 18th in the table.

YB took over Hefti from St. Gallen in summer 2020. This season he scored twice in 29 competitive games. One of them was wonderful in the Champions League in a 3: 3 against Atalanta Bergamo.

YB brings Blum back

The Bernese responded immediately to Hefti’s departure. The Young Boys make use of a contractual clause and bring back right defender Lewin Blum, who played on loan at Yverdon in the preliminary round, with immediate effect. The 20-year-old had passed through all junior levels at YB in the past 10 years.
