The NBC series “Young Rock” deals with the young years of the popular Hollywood actor Dwayne Johnson. It has now been announced that the series will not have a fourth season.

In the beginning, the comedy series “Young Rock”, about the career of the former wrestling star and now a celebrated Hollywood actor, was still a real viewer magnet on NBC. But now the US broadcaster is suddenly drawing a line under the series and is canceling it before a final 4th season.
If you look at the number of viewers of the series, the end of the series with “The Rock” doesn’t come as a surprise anymore. These gradually decreased. On average, only around 1.4 million US viewers tuned in to season 3, while season 2 attracted around 2.23 million and season 1 even more than 3 million in front of the screens.
While Season 1 of “Young Rock” dealt with Dwayne Johnson’s childhood and Season 2 with his youth and college years, Season 3 finally showed how Johnson took off as a professional wrestler “The Rock” in WWE and his first successes as Hollywood -actor made. We also got to see producer Dwayne Johnson himself in “Young Rock” along with a fictional background story in which he has to rush to the aid of the US President in 2032.
In Germany, the series started its last 3rd season in May 2023 on the pay-TV channels Sky and Wow. While it’s not impossible for another broadcaster or streaming service to pick up the show, which currently has 36 episodes, it’s not on the cards at the moment.
