A 21-year-old man was placed in pre-trial detention on Friday after a 24-year-old woman was shot and killed on October 14 at her home in Croissy-Beaubourg in Seine-et-Marne, the Meaux prosecutor’s office said on Saturday, confirming information from Parisian.
He is the alleged perpetrator of the fatal shot to the head and, while he was the subject of a search warrant, he appeared at the premises of the Versailles criminal brigade, according to The Parisian. The victim was found dead at her home last Saturday around 8:30 a.m., after a “probable evening” at home which would have given rise to significant consumption of alcohol and narcotics, Jean reported to AFP earlier this week. -Baptiste Bladier, public prosecutor in Meaux.
Suicide thesis ruled out
No weapon having been found on site, the theory of suicide is ruled out. Aged 23, the victim’s roommate was also detained for drug trafficking and alteration of an object relating to a crime, the newspaper said.
Three other police custody had been launched in the 48 hours following the young woman’s death, before being lifted, reported the public prosecutor. The victim was killed by at least one gunshot to the head, the exact number of projectiles still to be determined by the autopsy. The investigation is entrusted to the Meaux judicial police.
